An IDF Reservist Calls Me Out, but Falls Flat
Also: Support those who didn't sell out, and don't sell out to the WZO
An IDF reservist who thinks he knows better took issue with the prescient words of Rabbi Avigdor Miller that I shared in the previous post, and the following dialogue ensued on my Telegram channel. We’ll call him Rambo:
Rambo: Proud Reservist here. I would never take Avigdor Miller as my rav.
Me: Of course you wouldn't. Some people can only learn the hard way, and some people will never learn at all. Your heart may be in the right place, but you're a fool.
Rambo: Someone has to do more than talk and stand in the way of people who want to kill us.
Me: Like you did on October 7?
Rambo: Like I'm doing now.
Me: So you think.
The people who want to kill you include people giving you orders. And you know it, too, but you put it out of your mind because it interferes with your hero-complex.
I highly suggest you internalize what the neviim said. https://chananyaweissman.substack.com/p/prophetic-messages-for-jews-with
Rambo: So there's a comparison done between Jeremiah and Josephus. They say that Josephus is a traitor and Jeremiah is a Patriot. Both wanted the leaders of Jerusalem to negotiate with the enemy as Jerusalem wa held siege.
The question is asked, why is Josephus looked upon as a traitor, and Jeremiah as a Patriot? Because Jeremiah urged the leaders to negotiate while inside the walls, and yes the leadership wanted often times to kill him.
Josephus, however was outside in the Roman camp, which meant that no amount of talking he could do would matter.
For me, metaphorically, I choose to stick around despite the bad leadership. Because nevertheless, someone has to stand between innocent Jewish lives and those who would seek to do them harm.
I'm aware we have psychopaths in our leadership. But someone has to stand in defense.
Me: I have no idea what comparison you're talking about, but it was definitely a kofer who made it. Yirmiyahu was not giving strategic advice. He was delivering a message from Hashem. I suggest you pay better attention.
You're not defending anyone in the IDF, not yourself nor anyone else. Sorry to burst your bubble.
It would be bad enough if you had psychopaths in your leadership, as you acknowledge. What you fail to realize is that one cannot become part of the leadership without being a psychopath.
You cannot defend people from external enemies when you are under the command of internal enemies. All you are doing is deluding yourself.
I know your heart is in the right place and I wish you well. But the IDF is the problem, not the solution.
Rambo: OK. I'll leave you all to do the talking. Best of luck.
Just remember, sometimes stepping up requires more than mouth movements and vocal chords.
Me: When that time comes, you'd best have all your limbs and not be under the command of traitors.
Rambo: Maybe if someone like you makes a security company at some point, I'll join. Care to try it? You really want to change things? Give it a shot. Lead by example, not just by words. Step away from the microphone for a while and back up your words with actions.
Meantime, again someone has to help defend. These people in the settlements also have lives and jobs and they do need help with defense. We work with the tools we have. But I for one can't just sit back, watch, and comment, complain, and just wait around for someone to come to our rescue like the shtetl days.
Also, when you do talk, try not to be such a Scorpio. You attract bees with honey, not vinegar.
Me: I'm too much of a coward and I'm too lazy, sorry, but thanks for the advice. You know more than the prophets and you seem like a real Rambo type, too, so you should do it. Your strength and the might of your hand will surely save us...
And that was the end of it. Like many who still drink the blue and white Kool-aid, he thought he would guilt me into submission before his IDF servitude, and devolved into trolling, projecting his insecurities, and gaslighting when I pushed back with plain common sense and calling out his kefira.
Seriously, when you can acknowledge that you are under the command of psycopaths you should question your own sanity for entrusting your life and wellbeing to them, instead of talking down to others who are unwilling to do the same and pretending to have moral leverage over them. Your sales pitch is terrible.
A fool and his limbs are soon parted.
Mordechai Sones has started his own Substack and published his first two articles there. The second one is particularly good, and I linked to it below.
I first connected with Mordechai during the Covid era, when he was one of the few outspoken voices of sanity and unapologetic truth. He has been an excellent resource and sounding board for me over the years, and a friend.
Mordechai did a great service for the community by using his platform as a news broadcaster on Arutz Sheva to warn people about all the mysterious deaths that were occurring shortly after crapcination.
He also posted several of my articles on the Arutz Sheva website that rattled the tree. The last article of mine forced Arutz Sheva to insert disclaimers urging people to follow the Ministry of Health, exposing Arutz Sheva as nothing more than a government tool.
When Mordechai received instructions from above to refrain from posting anything against the approved narrative without their approval, he did something that very few would have the integrity to do: he resigned in protest.
How many Roshei Yeshiva and religious staff have resigned from YU for allowing a perversity club?
How many rabbis and religious staff resigned from yeshivas, shuls, and organizations that imposed masks and poison shots on the community?
How many rabbis and religious people have ever been moser nefesh to protest anything that conflicts with the Torah, putting the truth and bitachon in Hashem above money and immediate personal convenience?
We have unfortunately seen how many of the people who fought the covid narrative were corrupted or otherwise sold out. There's a very short list of people who have demonstrated integrity and mesiras nefesh, and Mordechai Sones is on that list. We should especially support such people, and therefore I encourage people to subscribe to his Substack and support his work.
I really don’t understand all the controversy about the World Zionist Congress elections. Religious Jews are being urged to join with kofrim and declare that they are kofrim as well in exchange for their institutions possibly getting more money from a kefira organization that wants to infiltrate and destroy them.
There aren’t two sides to that.
As for the money…seriously, where is your bitachon?
There is also no chance that Rav Chaim Kanievsky ruled in favor of this. I wouldn't trust the operatives making such claims as far as I could throw a fake covid ruling.
Plus, Asher Weiss is one of the main voices urging people to sign up and vote. Of course he is. Need I say more?
Interesting additional information here:
One comment on that article:
All that misplaced concern for the stature of certain rabbis, at the expense of properly guiding the people according to their best understanding on an issue of such great importance, has quite the opposite effect.
