Pseudo-Intellectuals Versus Chazal

Plus false prophets and their gay children

In this week's Torah class we learned about:

  • Some of the many miracles of childbirth — miracles that are cloaked in nature and ordinary events, yet are miracles nonetheless

  • When Rabbi Akiva was steps ahead of his nemesis, Turnusrufus

  • Why Hashem created an imperfect world

  • The hypocrisy of Jews who are quick to scorn the words of Chazal that seem puzzling or incorrect to them

  • The invention that had European scientists degrading Jews and the Talmud, and how their great scientific discovery was trivial knowledge to Chazal

  • What pseudo-intellectuals — even those who pose as religious Jews — really have in mind when they downplay the scope of Chazal's knowledge of science and the world

The recording is available above and on my Rumble channel here.

Some guy by the name of Uri Sharki, who was installed as an influencer in the Religious Zionist cult, declares like an ancient prophet of Ba'al: "Standing for the siren is a distinct Jewish custom, not a gentile imitation", even though, of course, it is precisely that.

Sharki argues that this pseudo-minhag is rooted in Halacha, equating it with standing for kaddish at a funeral. (Perhaps in a future sermon he will equate apples with oranges, too.)

Other kofrim have hijacked Aharon’s silence after his sons were killed as the source for this un-Jewish custom. Any child can tell you that the Torah informed us that Aharon quietly accepted Hashem's decree, not that he stood in ceremonial silence out of respect for the dead, or some other such thing. These ignorant phonies have no shame in distorting Torah sources or words of Chazal that they don’t even really believe in.

Five years ago the same high priest of statism paskened on Facebook: "חובה קדושה לקבל את החיסון נגד נגיף הקורונה" — "It is clear and definitive without any doubt that it is a holy obligation to take the vaccine against the corona plague, and not to be lax about it at all. The arguments against this have no substance." (Hebrew article here.)

He also said one should break Shabbos to get the shot.

It's no coincidence that these state/media creations receive prestigious appointments, awards, and lots of fawning media coverage.

You don't need to be a great Torah scholar to recognize an Erev Rav. There is no substance to anything they say. They are just like the false prophets of old. Then too the ordinary Jews were expected to see through their lies and shtick. The main impediments are submission to authority figures and fear of social pressure.

Fun fact: Yair Sharki, son of this genius posek and former “haredi journalist”, came out as gay a couple of years ago, eliciting pride and joy from Knesset members across the spectrum, including members of Ben Gvir’s party, bringing unity like little else can.

Seriously, what a simcha for humanity and the Jewish people that some guy who wears a yarmulka announced that he is gay.

(Is Yeshiva University hiring?)

The media reaction is striking as well. The Judean began their article with: “A popular young, orthodox journalist, who is strict with his Yarmulke-wearing, Yair Cherky, came out of the closet in a social media statement that received positive feedback from politicians and celebrities all across Israel's social spectrum.”

He's strict with his Yarmulke-wearing...hahaha.

The Jerusalem Post quoted Sharki as saying: “[I am gay] and I love God.” Why the brackets? Well:

Israel Hayom and others had it as follows: “I love men and I love God.”

Ynet’s version of the quote might explain the reason for the brackets:

Indeed, that is the most accurate translation of what he actually wrote:

“אני אוהב בנים ואוהב את הקדוש ברוך הוא וזה לא סותר וגם לא חדש”

I love boys and I love Hashem, and this is not a contradiction or anything new.

Let’s also not overlook the order in which he stated who and what he loves.

Considering what we’ve learned about the Erev Rav ruling class, none of this should come as a surprise. Leaving aside this particular example, about which I know nothing more than the facts stated above, no doubt many of the children the Erev Rav come into contact with receive special education…

Still want to stand for the sirens?

Share

At precisely 8 PM last night the siren went off, the Chazan said "Vehu rachum", and we davened maariv. It was great.

It would be funny if someone was in a public place when the sirens went off and yelled "Yemenite missiles!" and started running.

And it would be funny if during the sirens they intercepted a “Yemenite missile” over Jordan, whose fragments took a magic carpet all the way to Beit Shemesh, while dozens of explosions were heard all over the country.

To stand or to run when Pavlov sounds the siren? That is the question.

And I’m still waiting for a ruling on what to do if there’s a simultaneous Covid outbreak, too, and one doesn’t have a mask with him.

Where is Asher Weiss when you need him?

Erev Rav shouldn't be allowed to play with fire.
